Kath after climbing the Inaccessible Pinnacle

This week I've been working on Skye. Steve and Kath were keen to climb some munros and enjoy some scrambling on Skye.

We had a great time climbing Sgurr nan Gillean at the North end of the Cuillin via the West Ridge, the Inaccessible Pinnacle and Sgurr Alasdair via Sgurr Sgumain.

Monday and Wednesday had low cloud but Tuesday was sunny with excellent views out to the Western Isles

Amy below the Northern Buttresses of Sail Gharbh

While many parts of the UK had rain this weekend, in the far NW Highlands Amy and I had sunshine and dry weather.

Yesterday we climbed Quinag via the East Buttress of Sail Gharbh. These Buttresses of tiered Sandstone are very reminiscent of Beinn Eighe's Triple Buttresses but at a lower altitude and more accessable.

Rich on Paralysis by Analysis

The conglomerate crag The Camel, just south of Inverness, has attracted both climbers and midges these last 2 days.

During the day the breeze kept the midges away and the steep nature of the cliff kept the routes dry in the recent heavy showers. However, in the evening when the breeze dies beware the midge.
