Kirsteen rock climbing at Logie Head

Introduction to Rock Climbing Course

This week I have been working on an Introduction to rock climbing course at Glenmore Lodge.

The weather generally across western Scotland has been fairly wet. The east has been a lot dryer and although we have had lots of wind we have managed to stay dry every day mostly on the Moray Firth coast cliffs.

Hogwarts Express steaming across Rannoch Moor

Filming work

After the summer of working on BBC Raven I was asked to help out with the next Harry Potter Film.

Over the weekend they were filming a scene on Rannoch Moor. Hogwarts Express came across from the West Coast for the shot out in the middle of the moor.

Douglas above the direct start to the Northern Pinnacles, Liathach

Torridon Scrambling

Yesterday I was over in Torridon. Douglas and I had a great day out in warm sunshine and blue skies. We climbed the Northern Pinnacles on Liathach.

We did the direct start which climbs over the Munro Top, Meall Dearg. This is a really good way to approach the Northern Pinnacles and creates a much better route oveall.

Dave, Kath and Steve on the Bealach Coir'an Lochain above Loch Coir' a' Ghrunnda

Munros on Skye

I am just back from Skye where I was out with Kath and Steve for the last 3 days. We had a great few days of scrambling and climbed 5 of the Cuillin Munros. Today we climbed Hart's (commonly known as Collie's Ledge)

Although the high pressure brought some cloud free tops to other parts of the highlands we had cloud on the Southern and central munros.
