A great day to finish on Skye

Yesterday was Karen, Nicky and Jim's final day on Skye. We were blessed yet again with a fine day and some great views. Other parts of mainland Scotland had cloud and showers while we basked in hot sun.

We climbed the southern Munros in the main black cuillin and surprisingly there were very few folk around for a sunny saturday in August.

Another stunning day on Skye

Today I was out in the black Cuillin again with Karen, Nicky and Jim. We did Sgurr Mhic Choinnich, the Inaccessible Pinnacle on Sgurr Dearg and Sgurr na Banachdich.

It was surprisingly quiet on the hill today. We only met one other walker all day. It looks like we might have another dry day on Skye tomorrow, if we're lucky!

Thursday 2nd August 2012

Skye Munros

The last couple of days I have been on Skye with Karen, Nicky and Jim. They are aiming to do the Cuillin Munros this week. Yesterday was a minging day on the hill with persistent rain and strong winds so I don't have any decent photos of our ascents of Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh and Sgurr a' Mhadaidh.

Today was completely different and with suncream and sunglasses we climbed the 3 northern Munros; Sgurr nan Gillean, Am Basteir and Bruach na Frithe. It was a very pleasant day out.
