December in the Highlands
December has generally been cold and snowy even down to sea level for much of it. Now, however, a lot of the lower level snow has melted but it looks like snow and cold will return after Christmas. Early December before the cold snap I managed a day out on the local bolted crag at Moy with Mike. Good to get some climbing in there after many months without a visit. I then took part in some training with the Glenmore Lodge staff looking at some first aid and a mountain rescue scenario. Finally a had a wee solo adventure out to Cape Wrath and stayed at the excellent Kearvaig Bothy. Relive my Cape Wrath Run Happy Christmas everyone! |
