Alpine Conditions in Lochaber

With high pressure in charge at the moment we had blue skies and sunshine and good frozen snow on the hills. On Saturday I took a team up Stob Ban in the Mamores. On Sunday I was up in Coire Leis on Ben Nevis doing some winter skills.

A good weekend with Edinburgh College Climbing club

It's always good to work somewhere I usually don't. This weekend I was working out of the village of Laggan. We headed into the Monadhliath Mountains on Saturday and had some blue skies and sunshine. Sunday we waded into the Laggan Hills and found some good venues for Snow belays and summitted a Munro too.

Snow to sea level across the country this weekend

This weekend I was back in Glencoe with the Heriot-Watt University Mountaineering Club. The weather was quite wild and wintry with lots of snow showers and sea level snow on Sunday. We looked at winter skills like ice axe arrest and moving with crampons and an ice axe. On Sunday we did some mountaineering skills like bucket seat and buried ice axe and how to use a snow bollard.

Great weather in Glencoe this weekend

I was out with Dundee University Rucksack Club this weekend. On Saturday I taught winter skills on Buchaille Etive Beag. On Sunday we did some mountaineering skills and traversed the peak of Stob Coire nan Lochan. It was very busy on the hill with lots of winter routes being climbed.
