Beautiful evening at Duntelchaig

Last night I was out with the Highland Hillwalking Club at Duntelchaig. They were keen to have an abseiling session.

We were lucky to have sunshine for our evening of abseiling at Duntelchaig crag. The wind was fairly strong as well which was great for keeping the midges away.

Summer sunshine and clipping bolts

The monsoon rains of Wednesday made it feel more like New Delhi than Inverness, but the last 2 days has certainly made up for it with sunshine, dry rock and a gentle breeze. The bolted sport crag at Moy just 20 minutes North of Inverness has seen a few teams enjoying the midge free environment. Maybe it's because 'The Ticks Ate All The Midges'.

Mike smoothly climbed his first 7a+ and both Matt and Findlay made clean ascents of the classic 25m long 7a, 'The Ticks Ate All The Midges'. Lets hope this summer weather lasts as long as possible.

Conglomerate sport climbing

Today I was out with Mike at Moy. We enjoyed a morning of sport climbing. Although the rain came and went most of the routes on the big flat wall stay dry except for the top few metres.

We then headed down for a quick boulder on the Kessock Bridge Boulders in the afternoon sun.

Sunny day at the crag

Yesterday I was out with Lorraine at Logie Head. We had a great day cragging in the sunshine.

This sea cliff climbing venue is great when the wind is blowing strongly from the south and west like it has been the last few days because it is very sheltered.

Ben Nevis Charity Walk

Today I was organising a charity walk on Ben Nevis for the British Heart Foundation.

Over 60 walkers set out from Glen Nevis and although it was very windy, cloudy, cold and a bit wet, they all got to the top and headed off on the next objective for this weekend, Scafell Pike.
