Spaced Out Rockers Cliff and the Golden Walls

Today Martin and I headed to Assynt hoping to go climbing up on Stac Pollaidh but a cloudy misty start didn't bode well for a day of cragging but we kept the faith and headed to the coast.

After an hours walk north from Reiff we found the Spaced Out Rockers Cliff. Most of the climbs at Reiff are short but on this particular cliff is a long fantastic climb called Spaced Out Rockers on the Road to Oblivion. This 4 star E4 certainly lives up to its colourful name and includes an amazing 45m diaganol traverse pitch. After this big stamina-fest we had time for one short route on the nearby Golden Walls.

End of a beautiful day

Creag Rodha Mor aka Super Crag

Yesterday I was over on the west coast climbing with Robin. It was hot, sweaty and slighty midgie for climbing but what a stunning day to be out on the west coast. Wanting to get the most out of our day passes we didn't leave the crag till 8:30pm after 7 pitches of climbing which meant the Ullapool chippy was shut. Doh!

It was the first time either of us had visited this particular crag which has only been developed since 2011 by Ian and Tess. There is a topo on my website on my Downloads page.

Willie climbing at Kingussie Crag

Dolphins and Sunshine

I was out climbing with Willie the last 2 days. We had some lovely sunny warm weather. The pleasant breeze also kept the midges away.

On Sunday we climbed at Kingussie Crag and today we climbed at Cummingston. It was Willie's first taste of sea cliff climbing and we were rewarded with a view of some dolphins and some excellent climbing.
