Weekend in the north west highlands

Some good winter conditions in the north west Highlands this weekend. I was working with St Andrews University Breakaway Society. We had a great time on Conival learning winter skills in the fresh March snow.

A wild west coast wintry weekend

I was working in Lochaber this weekend with Glasgow University Mountaineering Club. I was working up Glen Nevis on Stob Ban. Saturday we had frequent graupal showers and strong winds. Sunday was even more wild with persistent snow to low levels throughout the day.

A return to winter in the hills

This weekend I was working with Aberdeen University Wilderness and Expedition Medicine Society. On Saturday we found some patches of snow in Coire Cas for looking at winter skills. We then got off the hill early as Storm Freya approached. Then on Sunday we ventured back into the Northern Cairngorms where we found some fresh snow and did some more winter skills in Coire an T-Sneachda
