Alpha Mountaineering were called to Edinburgh to work as Safety Consultants on a new film being set in Edinburgh. Wedding Belles follows the story of 4 woman as they go about their lives. Wedding Belles has an Irvine Welsh script which in his characteristic way occasionally looks at the darker side of life.

Today it stopped raining but the rock was still pretty wet. Here Rich is climbing a rather damp Razor Flake. It is an HVS climb on the Seventy Foot Wall. It is a steep clean wall to the right of the main crag at Duntelchaig. It only takes half an hour to get here from Inverness city centre.

Thursday 19th October 2006

Today started out windy and then got very windy and finally very wet by the end of the day. We still had an excellent day on the East Ridge of the North Top of Stob ban in the Mamores. This is a great scramble accessible from Glen Nevis. This was a day with West Coast Mountain Guides.

Wednesday 18th October 2006

Although it was very misty today, there was very little wind and no rain either. Stephen and I had a great day ascending Tower Ridge and then descending Ledge Route. This was a day with West Coast Mountain Guides.

Tuesday 17th October 2006

Today it was alot drier in the West than the East for a change. Here Stephen is climbing The Guttter in Glen Nevis. We then went on to do Pine Wall and Tear. We also did a retreivable abseil. This was a day with West Coast Mountain Guides.

Saturday 14th October 2006

Today it was a perfect autumn day for bouldering on the Ruthven Boulder. Here Mike is spotting Nick on the classic V6 problem, Barry Manilow. This gneiss boulder above the Loch Ruthven is only 25mins drive from Inverness city centre.

Fergus and I then headed over to Duntelchaig where we did the classic route Dracula. The rock was dry and perfect cool conditions for the route.

Tuesday 10th October 2006

It was alot warmer on the South West facing Pinnacle Crag near Duntelchaig where a party were out enjoying Stepped Corner

Today Mike was over in Northern Ireland at Fairhead. Here he is climbing An bealach Rhunda

The Camel is a bolted conglomerate crag South East of Inverness. Some excellent long routes up to 30m long and graded from F6b to F7a+. It is North facing so good for those hot days. It was very cold at the Camel today!
