Scrambling in Lochaber
Today it was unseasonably warm and with it we had great sunny dry weather too. However, the beginning of the week wasn't quite as good! I was out with Bruce doing some climbing and scrambling in Lochaber.
On Sunday we climbed Number 3 Buttress on Stob Coire nam Beith which was very wet but sheltered from the wind. Monday was the best day with very little precipitation or wind so we did Tower Ridge. We saw no one else on the North Face as we climbed in and out of the cloud. Tuesday was back to monsoon conditions while we climbed up the front of Gearr Aonach and down the Zig Zags. |

Windy but sunny in the Cairngorms
For the last 2 days I have been out on the hill in the Cairngorms. Sheila and I were doing some modeling for Ben who was taking photos for Rab.
Yesterday we were on the top of Finger's Ridge and near Pigmy Ridge. Last night we bivied near the Shelter Stone and today we had a good time bouldering and then doing Afterthought Arete.
Although it was windy we had very little precipitation and mostly really good conditions for the photography. |

Wild, wet and windy weekend on Skye
Over the weekend I was scrambling on Skye with Steve and Kath. Even though it really was not very pleasant weather we managed to do something each day.
Friday was the one day without too much wind so we did a traverse of Sgurr a Mhadaidh, up the NW ridge and down the SW ridge. Saturday was windy but not too wet so we did the Spur on Sgurr an Fheadain and continued up to Bealach Harta, this makes for a great day out.
Today really was the worst day of weather I've had in a while and Steve and Kath were still keen to get something done so we did the North Buttress of Sgurr nan Each which is a great wee ridge that has a quick descent from it's top. |

Beautiful Day on the Aonach Eagach
Today I was out with Tracy and Andy on the Aonach Eagach.
This classic scramble is always a grand day out but when it is dry with some sunshine and great views it really is a special day out.
Today I was working for Abacus Mountaineering |
