Email from Stephen Price 17 September 08: Dear Nick,
We'd just like to say a huge "thank you" for our three excellent days
scrambling in Skye. The experience totally surpassed our
expectations: exhilarating, inspiring, informative .....
We just got home to your CD of photos - which are a great reminder of the trip.
Never having used a guide before, we were both a little unsure as
what to expect. You really helped us get the most out of our days in
the hills and we achieved things we would have never have done by
ourselves.
The trip has given us new skills, and much more confidence
about what we can do. We will unreservedly recommend a trip with
Alpha Mountaineering to friends and colleagues, and will be telling
them all about it when we go back to work tomorrow..
Best wishes and thanks again
Steve and Kath

Email from Michael Hale 10 June 08: Hi Nick,
I wish to thank you very much for excellent week I have just had with you touring the far North West Highlands and Orkney climbing the sea stacks.
It was a dream come true for me and all done in a week. When I showed friends your programme they said it was to ambitious and wouldn't get done but thanks to your superb organisational skills the week was a breeze. The accommodation was great, the food and company was excellent and the weather was marvellous.
Your guiding skill on the stacks was very secure and I learnt some good techniques. I even suspect you persuaded a fulmar to puke on me to make the experience special. Again, many thanks and I would recommend you to anyone.

Email from Ian Fleming 4 June 08: Nick,
Thanks for the photos...Fantastic.
Thank you for a brilliant three (or in my case two and a bit!) days. It is the first time on Skye that we have had a guide who has listened to what we wanted to do rather than following his own agenda
It is also great to be coached and educated rather than just dragged over the tops; we have learnt a lot from you in three days.
I certainly (and I know Alastair feels the same) felt safe in your hands.
I would have no hestitation in recommending you to anyone and have already sent an email to some of my friends who have an interest in exploring Skye (and indeed the Ben and Glencoe) on the end of a rope.
Thank you, again. With best wishes, Ian

Thanks for two brilliant days on the hills working on winter skills last week. We covered much more than I expected and you passed on so much information not just for winter but year round. The way you conducted everything was very professional yet so much fun.

Well done for running a really professional course. Your infectious enthusiasm for the sport combined with your obvious skills & knowledge of the techniques, equipment, route options, ensured you really helped us get the most out of the winter environment and during our 3 days. We'll be back for more next year.....and that's a threat!

Email from Robin Smith after a day of winter skills 5 Feb 08: Nick,
Thanks a lot for organising the course on Saturday ... we had a great day, although perhaps too much snow for some aspects.
The whole group wanted to pass on our thanks to Kev - they were unanimously complementary about his relaxed teaching style, his responsiveness to the varied group and developing weather conditions, and his overall approachable flexible style.
We went on to have a go at Meall a Bhuachaille on Sunday, but turned back with the wind after an amphibian trudge up to Ryvoan - but as Kev kept saying, the hill will be there next time.
Thanks again, see you in a year for the next level?
Robin

Email from Gemma Waterworth after a day of winter skills 4 Feb 08: Hi Nick,
My name is Gemma and I have just come back from a weekend in Aviemore on one of your winter skills courses. I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and in particular Kev, our instructor, for making the course such a great experience. A great time was had by the whole group and I believe this wouldn't have been the case without the knowledge and experience demonstrated by yourselves as an organisation and by Kev as an instructor.
I hope that we will very soon take part in one of your other courses and I certainly will be recommending you to anyone else I know that is interested in doing any similar courses. Many thanks again! Gemma

Email from Will Wilkinson after a day of advanced winter climbing coaching 13 Jan 08: Nick,
Just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for a good day on Friday, I found it useful, instructive and fun. All in all a top day, gave me just what I asked for 'a good insight into to some harder terrain.'
Following on from Friday and feeling confident, we went and bagged two first ascents in the Southern Sector of Lochnagar. Anyway thanks again.
Cheers Will.

Email from Alex Tuck after a 2 day winter skills course 11 Jan 08: Dear Nick,
Thank you for two very worthwhile days in the Cairngorms. All three of us were very pleased by the amount that you managed to squeeze in we covered much more than we had anticipated, and all agree that everything we learnt will be very useful in the future. The day after the course, David C and I and another member of our group walked to Ben Macdui, then scrambled down the Fiacaill Buttress ridge using all of the skills that you taught us (apart from emergency procedures!). We also enjoyed a very white and windy walk to Braeriach later on in the week it definitely felt like Scottish winter! So thanks again for excellent tuition, and an amazing time in the Cairngorms! Thanks again,
Alex

Well, I am back in the US and back to work today. This is an unfortunate
development but, necessary. Just wanted to thank you for the great day
on the hill. Our success was a testament to your skill and
professionalism, it also helps that you were a cool guy and fun to talk
with.
Good Luck in winter 2008 and if you are ever out this way give me a shout.
